VEHR is the product of the confluence of two heartfelt convictions and motivations, tempered by extensive practical experience and study.
VEHR Technologies is a software Research & Development headquartered in Atlanta, GA with offices in Nebraska City, NE. Founded in 2023 VEHR Technologies is dedicated to advancing Human-Centric Design in the Electronic Health Records space. With the release of VEHR 1.0 they have already contributed to this mission by re-envisioning the EHR Dashboard to conform more closely to the actual work practices and thought patterns of practicing physicians.
Co-Founders of VEHR Technologies, Dr. Cole Marolf and Mario J Soverall whose professional lives intersected at a time when both individuals had a burning desire to make a significant difference in the health ecosystem Dr. Cole Marolf, champion of visual patient records with his conviction; there must be a better way to aggregate and present information in the service of both physicians and their patients; Mario J. Soverall’s determination to “give back” and improve the often degraded health conditions of the lives he saw throughout his travels, believing that technology can help to transform and improve the health delivery system in the least developed countries, helping to save lives.
This confluence of visions led to several very concrete and pragmatic propositions:
- Systems should reflect how we naturally think, rather than users learning to think like the system.
- Digitization can enhance the user's agency rather than limiting it.
- Data storage and retrieval are not inverse of each other, but entirely separate processes in many physical and digital systems.
- Narrative data entry mechanisms should conform to natural patterns of practice.
- Integrated data/order entry mechanisms are preferable
- Current approaches lead to user information overload and hoarding.
- EHRs must facilitate information sharing.
The first version of our Data Visualization product VEHR 1.0 is our response to these propositions
